Branding Tip #19 October 2011

Face to Face and Hand to Hand
With all the wonderful social networking capabilities we have today, there is still nothing better than good old-fashioned, face-to-face networking.

A friend of mine, the commercial sales manager at the local auto dealership that we've purchased many trucks from, called me a few weeks ago. He asked if I would come by on Saturday morning and take part in a volunteer bible study, give my testimony and offer a short motivational talk for their sales team. I gladly accepted and spoke for about 30 minutes, shook hands with roughly 40 people, had my oil changed and then drove back to my office.

What started as a 30 minute talk, resulted in over $20,000 in HVAC work for my company from members of that study group.

Meeting people face-to-face, being real and being friendly are the right things to do, but the by-products can be very rewarding.
